I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a HUGE Rachel Zoe fan. C’mon. I’m a personal stylist. She is THE stylist to the stars. Her taste is impeccable. Sure, she drinks too much Starbucks and probably could stand to eat a piece of chocolate cake here and there….but she is kind of a rock star. And her Box of Style is as bananas as she is.
I learned about her Box of Style a few years back as a dutiful, loyal fan would in stalking her website and being an avid reader of the Zoe Report. Despite knowing she has great taste, exactly what is in this “mystery box” of style. Let me liken this to why I don’t gamble. Like Carrie Bradshaw, I like to keep my money where I can see it — in my closet–with pieces I have seen before I’ve purchased, and that I have the option to return. The idea of buying a box of style without exactly knowing what “style” I’m getting just didn’t entice. Yet the curiosity remained…..I mean, how bad could it be, right? It is Rachel Zoe.
I finally broke down. I had to try it — I couldn’t resist — so I succumbed both out of curiosity and plain desire because while I won’t spoil all of its contents, the black and white wrap alone sold me. It’s so cozy. Period. the perfect cozy layering piece that you can throw in your bag for a plane ride, or for chilly evenings. Doubled, it’s a great scarf; worn alone, it’s a great effortlessly chic piece that is well worth over $100 alone.
Then there’s the belt — tassels are all the rage — and are forever classic pieces whether they come in and out of “vogue,” they always come back. And this belt is no exception. Perfect with jeans to add a boho flair; to define your waist over a long summer dress; or even to belt the wrap into a poncho, it’s quickly a go to in my wardrobe having JUST opened the box!
The makeup is also killer – the brow pencil is perfection for shaping my over-plucked brows (I blame the sorority bathroom for that); and the lip stain is not only lovely, but long lasting.
Worth $100? For sure. I’m truly going bananas for this Box of Style and am actually looking forward to the next one come January!
